Privacy Policy
This policy explains how MaxCut handles your data. In short: your cutting projects stay on your device. To maintain and improve the app, we collect usage and crash-diagnostics data through Firebase (Google) — in the EU/EEA, usage analytics only takes place with your consent.

1. Who the data controller is
The controller of the data processed by MaxCut is Blue Horizons LTDA, registered under CNPJ 54.200.672/0001-70, with its registered office at Rua São Mateus, 396, Belo Horizonte – MG, CEP 31035-330. For any matter relating to privacy and data protection, including the exercise of your rights, get in touch by email at suporte@bluehorizons.com.br.
2. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to all MaxCut users. For users in Brazil, the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) applies. For users in the European Union/EEA and the United Kingdom, the GDPR and the electronic-privacy rules (ePrivacy) apply. At each point below we indicate how we handle your data in that case.
3. Data we collect
3.1. Data that stays on your device
Your materials, parts, projects, and settings are stored locally on your device and are not sent to us or to third parties. The cutting-plan calculation happens on the device itself and works offline.
3.2. Data collected by Firebase
MaxCut uses Google Firebase services (Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics, and Remote Config). Through them, the following may be collected when you use the app:
- Identifiers for the device and the app installation (Firebase installation ID, instance ID, and the like);
- IP address and approximate location (country, derived from the IP);
- Device information (model, operating system, language, app version);
- Usage and interaction events (screens and actions within the app, in aggregate form);
- Crash-diagnostics data (error and crash reports, app state at the moment of the failure).
This data is pseudonymized — tied to a device identifier, not to your name. MaxCut does not require sign-up or login and does not collect your name, email, or phone number, unless you write to us voluntarily. We do not use this data for advertising and we do not sell your data.
4. What we use this data for
- Keep the app running and fix errors and crashes;
- Understand which features are used in order to improve the product;
- Deliver settings and improvements remotely.
5. Legal basis and your controls
Usage analytics. Outside the EU/EEA, we process this data on the basis of legitimate interest (art. 7º, IX, of the LGPD) in improving the app. In the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom, usage analytics relies on your consent (art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive): it is turned off by default and is only enabled if you opt in, and you may withdraw your consent at any time.
Crash diagnostics, security, and remote configuration. Processed on the basis of legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR / art. 7º, IX, of the LGPD) in keeping MaxCut stable and secure.
Your controls. You can turn usage analytics and crash diagnostics on or off at any time under Settings › Privacy in the app.
6. Sharing with third parties
The data above is processed by Google LLC, acting as a data processor (art. 28 of the GDPR), operating solely in accordance with our instructions and the Firebase Data Processing Terms. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy and on the Privacy and Security in Firebase page.
7. International data transfer
Because Google's global infrastructure is used, your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. For users in the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom, this transfer is grounded in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) incorporated into the Firebase Data Processing Terms. You may request a copy of these safeguards by email at suporte@bluehorizons.com.br.
8. Retention and deletion
Crash-diagnostics data (Crashlytics) is kept for approximately 90 days. Usage data (Analytics) follows the period configured in Firebase (at most 14 months). The data that stays on your device is erased when you use the “Clear data” option in the app or uninstall MaxCut.
9. Your rights
You may, at any time, request: confirmation of processing and access to the data; correction/rectification; erasure/deletion; restriction of processing; portability; objection to processing based on legitimate interest; and withdrawal of consent, where applicable. These rights stem from art. 18 of the LGPD and, for users in the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom, from arts. 15 to 22 of the GDPR.
To exercise them, write to suporte@bluehorizons.com.br. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in Brazil, with the ANPD; in the EU/EEA, with the supervisory authority of your country (for example, Garante in Italy, CNIL in France, AEPD in Spain), under art. 77 of the GDPR.
10. Cookies
This site (maxcut.app) does not use tracking cookies or analytics tools. We only use one essential cookie to remember your language preference.
11. Security
We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process. No system is entirely foolproof, but we work to mitigate risks.
12. Children
MaxCut is intended for professionals and is not directed at children or at minors below the applicable age of digital consent (art. 8 of the GDPR). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
13. Automated decisions and sensitive data
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects or that significantly affect you (art. 22 of the GDPR), and we do not process special categories of data (art. 9 of the GDPR).
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the app's channels when appropriate.
